The online bingo industry will be pleased to hear of the latest news coming out of Norway that the country's online gambling market grew by 6.1 per cent last year, according to Bingo Street.
Statistics released by the Norwegian Gambling Commission show that €961 million (£759 million) was spent by 244,000 Norwegian gamblers within the last year.
Seven per cent of this is related to casino games, in which online bingo is a proportion. However, there are no figures released in the study relating explicitly to the number of bingo game play enthusiasts or the figures of online bingo in general.
But, according to Bingo Street, bingo online industry providers have stated that the number of players in search of a bingo cash prize is on the increase, making online bingo a growing market, especially among the female demographic.
And BingoPort recently stated that it estimates over £600 million is spent on bingo tickets each year, of which £480 is being returned to prize pots as bingo cash prizes.
