The appointment of Barack Obama as the new president of the USA will bring a more "sensible" approach to the online gaming industry in the country, it has been stated.
Writing for Bingo Street, Charlene Grey states that Republican candidate John McCain had been more "sympathetic" to the needs of online bingo and other games in the industry, but there is hope that Obama will bring a different if not better approach.
Meanwhile, Merrill Lynch analysts believe the appointment of Obama will be good news for those who play bingo online.
They said: "We think it could ultimately pave the way for online gaming regulation rather than prohibition.
"There have been separate acts to legalise internet gambling as well as those that particularly target poker and other games of skill. We think that with a Democrat president and Democrat-dominated Congress, such legislation would likely have a greater chance of being passed through."
According to Robert Palmer and an article on Article Codex, having the chance to win money online at some UK bingo sites is a sign of the times as the world continues to become more digitally advanced.
