Oasis obsessive hopes to release Gallagher biography
25th July 2008
A former bingo game play member of staff and obsessive Oasis fanatic is in talk with publishers about an official biography of Noel Gallagher, reports Edinburgh News.
Dougie Davidson quit his job as a sales manager with Mecca Bingo at Foutainbridge in Scotland last Christmas to dedicate all of his time to writing an official biography on the older Gallagher.
And now after three years of research he is hoping that first publishers and then Oasis themselves will want the book.
He told the newspaper: "He's [Noel's] given me so much and I've not given anything back personally, so I thought that was one wee small tribute I could make to him."
Mr Davidson has dedicated his life to Oasis and has spent five hours outside the Roxburghe Hotel in Edinburgh waiting to see Noel, named his son after him, bought around 900 CDs, 500 DVDs, a handwritten lyric costing £6,500 and a life-size cut out of the star.
In total, the 39-year-old believes he has spent around £20,000 on Oasis memorabilia, not including the CDs or the 43 times he has seen the band in concert, one ticket setting him back £275.
Also he listens to hits from the band an average of six hours a day.
The Mancunian band were formed in 1991 and sold over 55 million albums worldwide.
