A Kent widower, who became the biggest ever winner on the ITV1 television programme Bingo Night Live, has received his cheque for £60,000.
Michael Hercock from Margate, who lost his wife Esther last year, became the biggest jackpot winner since the show began in June and received his cheque from programme host Melinda Messenger on Friday.
It was a strange win for the 67-year-old as he only found himself watching the programme initially because he couldn't get to sleep.
He said: "The show's on at midnight and as I don't go to bed until late, I've played more or less from the start. You play online as well and I've been down to a single final number a couple of times before. "The jackpot had been rolling over every night and this time was the biggest ever. I was just waiting for a number seven but I was watching my computer, not the TV."
Computer owners and bingo fans may also want to combine the two by taking part in a session of online bingo.
Among the benefits of playing bingo online, rather than in a traditional hall, according to Bingo Street, is that a player can get more bingo for their money through top-up bonuses.
