Joss Stone is to star as a bingo caller in a new British romantic-comedy, it has been revealed.
The soul songstress has wowed the music industry with her sultry voice, winning two Brit awards and selling millions of albums across the world since she released her first album, the Soul Sessions, in 2003.
She recently became the face of Cadbury's Flake but now she is gearing up to take on the film industry by starring in Snappers, which follows the fortunes of a young actress who seeks shelter from the paparazzi in a caravan park.
Joss will star as the caller who manages bingo game play sessions at the park, with Men Behaving Badly star Caroline Quentin also appearing.
"I just wanted to challenge myself. There are things in the film that are going to really push the boundaries, and that excites me," Joss told the Metro.
The singer will also be contributing to the film's soundtrack and confessed that she has been "jumping out of bed in the middle of the night to jot lyrics down".
Bingo fans will have to wait until September to get their first glimpse of the film, which is set to premier at the English Riviera Comedy Film Festival.
