Former Eastenders actress Michelle Collins is the face of Bingo for Breakthrough 2008.
The actress, who played Cindy Beale in the long-running British soap, posed in a ball-gown made solely of bingo tickets to launch the campaign, which runs between October 19th and 25th.
This will be the fifth year of the campaign, which is a partnership between Breakthrough Breast Cancer and The Bingo Association, and the role of Ms Collins will be to encourage supporters to play bingo at their local clubs.
She said: "It is a truly unique event that continues to receive a huge amount of support as well as raising a massive amount of money for this very important cause.
"I am really looking forward to a fun-filled, action-packed Bingo for Breakthrough week."
To raise money, the bingo clubs take part in a range of fundraising activities, with participating clubs also selling pink dabbers.
Over the past five years the campaign has raised £2.75 million to help fund research on breast cancer and this year it is hoped this figure rises above £3 million.
