A Scottish building, that was once a bingo hall, is to be destroyed to be re-erected as an office block, reports the Hamilton Advertiser.
The Vogue Bingo building, which began as a cinema in the 1920s, will be demolished and replaced by a four-storey block with parking.
The planning committee agreed that the work could go ahead on Tuesday and now bingo fans will have to find a new location to continue their search for a bingo cash prize.
"The condition of the building is in a very poor and dilapidated state and is now a negative factor in terms of the area's townscape," planning chief Iain Urquhart told the newspaper.
"It could prejudice the future potential for the economic and physical regeneration of the surrounding area."
Another bingo hall in Bedfordshire has been told that it must turn off its outside lights because it gives off the impression of something from Blackpool illuminations rather than a bingo venue, according to the Comet.
