More elderly bingo fans in Wales may need to brush up on their computer skills and take to playing bingo online, after the closure of a bingo group.
Wales Online reports that the bingo group, which mainly consists of fans in their late 70s and 80s, is going to have to stop attending the Cimla Community Hall in Neath.
A rise in the cost of the rent for the game play facility has meant the group are unable to afford to pay Neath Town Council for use of the hall.
Committee member Shirley Carter, 73, of Pine Grove, told the website: "We can't afford to pay it, it's impossible. We're mostly senior citizens and for some people it's their only night out.
"We only get a pension and we've got to survive on that, then they take away our little bit of pleasure, a nice get-together. No one wants to be stuck in the house seven days a week."
Some bingo-loving pensioners recently got the chance to enjoy playing the activity as well as eating free food and listening to some live Christmas music at a school in Yorkshire, the Sheffield Star reported.
