Coffee chain Costa is opening up shop in various bingo halls across the county, it has been reported.
It seems that far from boozing while they play bingo, gaming enthusiasts are increasingly opting for a caffeine hit instead as they enjoy a game.
Costa has already set up shop in five UK Mecca clubs and more are set to come, according to the Daily Record.
Bosses hope that by providing more refreshments to punters it will encourage them to spend more time in the bingo halls.
The credit crunch and smoking ban are said to be just two factors behind a drop in the number of people splashing the cash in bingo halls in recent months.
Earlier this month, Mecca announced that its profits fell by almost a third to £21.6 million in the first half of this year.
Costa Coffee was originally founded in 1971 by Italian brothers Bruno and Sergio Costa.
