A teenager's dream to become a star in the West End has just been given a major boost as his father has won big when taking the chance to play bingo, the South Shields reports.
Terence Perry scooped £10,000 when playing the activity at Wink Bingo and is to put it all towards son Christopher's acting career.
The 19-year-old has been granted a place at the London School of Musical Theatre, with a one year intensive course costing £12,000 to complete.
Mr Perry, who works at South Shields Community School, told the newspaper: "I can't believe that I never have to worry again about keeping my son in drama school, and see him reach his dream that I never did."
Christopher added: "I love the course, it's fantastic, just what I want to be doing I'll definitely pay him back if I get on the West End."
The money was won thanks to only £6 of investment and Mr Perry is still relatively new to bingo, having only been playing for two months. A recent online bingo winner, who scooped £17,000 over a few days, described her success as a "wonderful feeling", Wink Bingo recently reported.
