More than 100 people gathered in Birmingham this week to play bingoin honour of a legendry club owner who helped shape the careers of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin star Robert Plant.
According to the Express and Star, mourners at the funeral of Mary 'Ma' Regan were asked to indulge in a session of bingo game play to remember the woman who was a major figure in the club scene.
Ms Regan booked stars including the Beatles, Dusty Springfield and the Kinks to perform at her venues but was also known for taking care of her acts.
Driver Bob Bailey said when the Beatles had nowhere to stay after a performance, "Ma put them up at her home in Woodbourne Road, Edgbaston".
She also steered Robert Plant away from the DJ decks and towards local band Listen, whom he played with before joining legendry rock band Led Zeppelin.
Musician Geoff Thompson said: "Robert Plant was DJ here when we came to play and Ma got him in with us when our rhythm guitarist left.
"You could say that without Ma Regan, Led Zeppelin might not have happened."
Music website BrumBeat has previously said that Ms Regan and her husband Joe played "a huge part in the development of the 1960s west Midlands music scene".
