'Bingo' scoops cash prize |

29th August 2008 |
A woman nicknamed 'Bingo' because of her love of the game has been rewarded with a £16,000 win.
The 46-year-old woman from Thringstone, who wishes to remain anonymous, scooped the prize at the Flutters Club in Jackson Street, Coalville, after completing a full house in 40 numbers.
However, she will not be able to spend all of the winnings as she is sticking to a deal she struck with her sister and a friend by splitting the money with them.
The woman, who works as a support worker for people with learning disabilities, told National Bingo: "I sat there bewildered at first.
"When I phoned my husband to tell him he didn't believe me."
She has been playing bingo since she was 18 and some of her friends who have known her since then often call her 'bingo' because she plays the game so often.
The money is to be put to good use on a holiday in Scotland with her husband, while making some changes to her house.
A bingo fan from Kent also was the lucky recipient of a cash prize after she scooped £34,000, earlier this month.
