A 65-year-old woman from the Oxfordshire town of Didcot has had an astounding reversal of fortunes after winning a colossal bingo jackpot at her local club.
The unnamed winner said she has played at the local Coronet Club in the Broadway at least twice a week ever since the venue opened in 1981, but prior to last week her previous biggest win was just £200.
After completing a full house during her most recent bingo game play session, the lucky lady was astounded to hear that she had won the Platinum Jackpot prize - leaving her bank balance some £391,868 better off.
"I have had ill-health and a rough time in the last couple of years but now this has really changed my luck," NationalBingo.co.uk reported the jackpot winner as saying shortly after hearing the news.
As a result of her big win, her husband is poised to take early retirement and the couple plan to use their winnings on home improvements and a new car.
Separately, a 55-year-old woman from Golders Green in London revealed that she plans to use the £390,000 she recently won to refurbish a church in her home village in the Philippines.
