A group which helps organise bonfire night celebrations in east Sussex has made an impressive start to its fundraising efforts for this year's event after holding an Easter-themed bingo game play session.
Eastbourne Today reports that the Hailsham Bonfire Society got 45 locals to play bingoat the Charles Hunt Centre, with attendees offered Easter cakes and hot cross buns during a pause in proceedings.
The event raised £155 for the bonfire night celebration - which is scheduled to take place on October 18th - and organisers are already planning to hold a second bingo night on April 18th to further boost their coffers.
Two other organisations looking forward to future bingo game play events are St Catherine's Hospice Support Group and the First Steps pre-school, Driffield Today reports.
The two groups recently teamed up to host an Easter-themed bingo night at a local school and managed to raise £600 to help fund their activities.
According to the website, the event was so popular that organisers are already working out when they will hold next year's bingo night.
