A bingo caller from Yorkshire is hoping that his skills on the microphone will lead him to being crowned bingo Caller of the Year later this month, reports the Sheffield Star.
Roger Hartley, from Parson Cross, won a place in the final of the competition after impressing judges in the regional rounds and now he must prepare his voice to tackle his rivals from all over the country.
If Roger is successful not only will he win a cash prize but he will get the chance to audition to be a caller on the Gala TV channel.
Roger has been around bingo game play enthusiasts for ten years and is currently based at the Gala Bingo club in Wadsley.
He told the newspaper: "With the support I have received from the public I feel like a true star and can't wait to show the judges what I'm made of!
"My bingo club has always prided itself on providing the best callers - I want to keep that reputation alive."
Another bingo caller in Wales also had a night to remember last month, when he was kissed by a female winner of a bingo cash prize of £33,000.
