Winbonanza number 1 for Online Bingo UK Elderly residents in Scarborough were recently invited to a local school to enjoy its Christmas party, reports the Scarborough Evening News.
Some 75 people turned up the George Pinder Community Sports College, where they were treated to a selection of carols by the school choir and given tea by year eight students.
They were also given the chance to play bingo while seeing if their numbers came up in a raffle.
Headteacher of the school, Hugh Bellamy, told the newspaper: "As a way of ensuring a positive link with our community this event is hard to beat.
"For the senior citizens we are sure it is an entertaining and enjoyable afternoon but it gives a strong message to our students about the kind of treatment and respect that our older generations are entitled to."
Meanwhile, Wales Online recently reported that more elderly people in Neath may have to swat up on their computer skills to play online bingo.
A bingo group has had to give up on its current bingo nights because a hike in prices has left them with no place to play, as they cannot afford the rent.
