Staff at a branch of Barclays Commercial Bank have held a bingo game play night in order to help a school pay for new chairs and desks.
Get Reading reports that the efforts of the Abingdon employees resulted in Radley Primary School receiving £1,100 that will help them buy the new furniture for classrooms.
The evening was organised as part of Barclays' community fundraising programme, with David Bond, the firm's communications relations officer, commenting: "We strive to strengthen local communities in which we live and work by supporting a range of causes from local schools to centres for older people.
"This is a fantastic example of Barclays staff fundraising with the local community to achieve something which we hope will make a real and lasting difference."
Separately, big-hearted bingo fans in the north-west have also been making a contribution to a good cause, with the Chester Chronicle reporting that staff at the town's Mecca Bingo hall collected £300 for Army Welfare.
The organisation helps provide community and personal support to members of the military and their families.
